Dalit Welfare Organization
Established in 1994 and registered in the office of District Administration in Kathmandu;is a member-based movement-oriented Organisation of Dalit activists and is one of the largest Dalit NGOs in Nepal. DWO is working to eliminate caste-based discrimination through two principle approaches: media advocacy and its development programme.
The main objective of DWO is to empower Dalits to make them aware of their rights and so improve their access to education and the nation’s resources. Supporting this DWO also runs livelihood programs to help lift the Dalit people out of collective economic poverty
Nepal Flood Response Program collaboratively with SCA – DWO has built up a network of partner Organizations and now works closely with national and international Organizations (more especially in relation to human rights), non-government Organizations, community groups/Organizations and government Organizations at all levels throughout the country.
