The social and cultural practices, patriarchal structures of society, socialization process and inadequate legal and administrative framework in Bangladesh are the main causes underlying the issue of sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking in Bangladesh. CSAET programme consists of three major issues; child sexual abuse; exploitation and trafficking. It is putting its effort in building consensus on violence against CSET issues by involving all level of stakeholders in reducing exposure of children to violence and violation of rights.
To attain CSAET objective the programme has been designed to address both preventive and protection issues through focusing on the immediate root causes based on the country and local context.
Preventive activities include awareness raising, local level advocacy and capacity building. Preventive approach focuses on increasing the knowledge and awareness of causes and consequences of child trafficking, sexual abuse and exploitation of children among children, parents/ guardian, community people, LEB, LEA, teachers, religious leaders, lawyers, etc.
