Integrated Approach to Promote Community Based Child Rights (IAPCCR) thematic programme works with an integrated approach that situates short-term objectives in the context of longer term goals seeking fundamental change of deep rooted causes violating rights of the children. It has a preventive approach directing towards elimination of underlying social and economic conditions that causes violation of child rights. This includes basic policies, laws, social and community structures that influence in combating poverty, developing human resources and raising awareness through social mobilization. The theme, however, has a curative approach also which tends to reach out to children in the community whose rights have been already violated.
To be more precise, Save the Children Sweden Denmark addresses the victimized children of child sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking and child labour through the thematic programme CSAET and CL. But IAPCCR theme programme mainly deals with the children who are at the risk of child labour, sexual abuse, exploitation and trafficking in the rural area. It works directly with the children, families, teachers and community enabling them to act on the violation of child rights. Also it contributes to address the root causes of violation of child rights and protect children from becoming victims. Therefore, it tries to build a wider constituency in favour of child rights in the community.
IAPCCR programme is implemented through 4 projects by three partner NGOs. They are:
1. Action for National Transformation for Advancement and Reform
2. Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts
3. United Development Initiatives for Programmed Action
