Association of Network for Community Empowerment (ANCE)

Association of Network for Community Empowerment (ANCE) was registered under Registration and Control Ordinance of Social Welfare Department, Government of Punjab, in 1994. ANCE believes in upholding human values in a society, which ensures equality, justice and non-discrimination. ANCE believes that in order to change the future of marginalised sections of the society, it needs to be organised and empowered. ANCE provides them a forum for collective voice and action.

Under Education and Technical Training Centre for working children project, ANCE provides education, technical training, health facilities to working children. The organisation lobbies with the government, it raises awareness raising on UNCRC and with particular focus on child labour.

Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights

The Ministry of Human Rights was created in 1996. Later, it was made part of Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights with Regional Directorates working under its auspices in all four provinces in Pakistan. Together with Save the Children Sweden, the ministry’s goal is to rehabilitate juvenile prisoners by providing them education, vocational training, recreation and psychological support. Training of prison staff and police officials in child rights and human rights is also undertaken to bring positive changes in their attitude towards children.

Pakistan Rural Workers Social Welfare Organization (PRWSWO)

Pakistan Rural Workers Social Welfare Organization (PRWSWO) is a community based non-profit making NGO founded in 1994. It is registered with the Social Welfare Department, under the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies Ordinance 1961.  The organisation aims to uplift socially and economically, poverty stricken masses, especially in the rural areas.

Pakistan Paediatric Association (PPA) 

Pakistan Paediatric Association (PPA) is the representative body of more than 1200 paediatricians of Pakistan. The Child Rights and Abuse Committee of PPA aims to promote and protect children’s rights and prevent child abuse and neglect in Pakistan.  The Committee works through raising public awareness, advocacy, research and capacity building of professionals involved in prevention and management of child abuse and neglect. A working group comprising of six national organisations – PPA, Rozan, Sach, Sahil, Save the Children UK and Vision– has now been established, with the financial support of Save the Children Sweden. The group advocates against child sexual abuse and exploitation and commercial sexual exploitation of children at all levels in the society.

PEHCHAAN

PEHCHAAN, a local NGO, promotes child protection in formal education settings, provides health education and vaccination against Hepatitis B to nomad children. It develops awareness material on child abuse and neglect for parents. It also promotes life skill based education for street children, integrated management of childhood illness for working children. It also conducts training, capacity building and peer education programmes on adolescent health issues at SOS children’s homes.
