Save the Children Sweden strives for children’s rights by carrying out interventions in four thematic areas as follows:
Child Protection
The overall goal of the child protection programme is to ensure that all children in Pakistan have access to a functioning child protection system that effectively prevents, resolves and responds to violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect of children in ALL settings. The sub-heads of the programme focus on various areas including: Child Protection System Approach, District Model for Child Protection, Child Protection within the Health System, Working Group on Child Sexual Abuse, Protection of Street Children, Prevention of Child Trafficking and Juvenile Justice.
Education
The purpose of this programme is to advocate for policy reforms to ensure that all children, especially those vulnerable to marginalization and exclusion, have access to mainstream education where schools meet the learning needs of all the children and create a protective and enabling environment. The strategies of the programme strive for Quality Inclusive Education to ensure maximum enrolment of children, creating child friendly environment by making schools violence free, and focusing on meeting the learning needs of all children.
Emergencies
The focus of this programme is to provide survival support, rehabilitation and strengthening of social support mechanisms to protect the children from physical, psychological and sexual abuse during emergencies. This includes creating “Safe Spaces” where children can recover from trauma and continue their education.
Civil Society
This programme is in line with Save the Children Sweden overall priority for building the capacity of civil society to act as a real change agent for children. It focuses on supporting and capacitating civil society to monitor and promote child rights, produce independent reports on the implementation of United Nation Convention on Rights of the Child and develop models for promoting state accountability to parents and families for realisation of child rights.

Our programmes are carried out in an integrated approach of research analysis, awareness raising, advocacy, capacity building and direct support.
We believe in the greater impact of collaborative efforts and therefore partner with local organizations and government departments to reach out the remote communities.
